As part of the International Open Access Week, there will be a symposium ‘Open access, the new beginning?’ held on Monday, 20 October 2014. Anyone should be able to read the results of publicly funded research. Therefore Sander Dekker, State Secretary of Education, Culture and Science, wishes to press on with open access. As he wrote
to the Dutch House of Representatives: In ten years’ time new academic publications must be freely available to anyone. How are we in the Netherlands going to make the transition to open access? The symposium is organised jointly by the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, the University of Amsterdam and the VU University Amsterdam.
Participation is free after registration and open to researchers of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, the University of Amsterdam and the VU University Amsterdam.
